Getting Picked Up at Tullamarine
By default the driver meets you at the taxi rank outside your terminal, which is the quickest option if you are travelling light and know your way around.
If you would rather be met inside at arrivals with a name board, add meet and greet when you book. It costs $35.00 and it is the one worth taking when somebody is arriving into a city they do not know, or when you are collecting a client.
How Early to Leave
Allow two hours between pickup and a domestic departure, three for international. The estimator shows the real drive time from your suburb, and on a weekday morning the Tullamarine Freeway deserves a buffer on top of it.
For an early flight, book the night before rather than calling at four in the morning and hoping.
Avalon and the Other Airport
Most Melbourne flights go through Tullamarine, but Avalon runs its own schedule out west and is a genuinely different trip, longer from most suburbs and without the same rank fee structure. Put Avalon in as your destination and the estimator prices that run properly rather than assuming Tullamarine.
