Booking a Trip

A booking made through this site is a request for a taxi at a stated time and place. It is confirmed when you receive a booking reference. We will contact you if anything about the trip cannot be met as booked.

Fares and Estimates

Every price shown on this website is an estimate, calculated from the maximum metered fares set by Safe Transport Victoria for the vehicle and time of travel you selected. It is not a fixed price or a quote in the contractual sense.

If you would like a fixed fare, ask us by phone or email before you travel. Where we agree a fixed fare with you, that fare applies to the trip as booked instead of the meter.

Otherwise, the fare you pay is the fare shown on the meter at the end of the trip, plus any tolls actually incurred and any applicable airport fee. Traffic, route changes, waiting time and additional stops will move the final figure away from the estimate.

Cancellations and No Shows

Cancel by calling 0449 076 826 as early as you can, so the car can be released to someone else. If a driver arrives at the booked time and place and the passenger cannot be found or contacted, the trip may be treated as a no show.

Passenger Responsibilities

• Give an accurate pickup address, including a unit or building number where one applies.
• Tell us at the time of booking if you need a child restraint, extra luggage space or a larger vehicle.
• Wear a seatbelt as required by Victorian law.
• Do not carry anything dangerous, illegal, or prohibited in a taxi.

Luggage and Property

Luggage capacity varies by vehicle and is stated on each vehicle on the Our Cars page. Please check property before leaving the vehicle. Items left behind should be reported as soon as possible so the driver can be contacted while the trip is still recent.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. We are not liable for missed flights, appointments or connections where the delay results from traffic, weather or other circumstances outside our control. For time critical travel, allow a sensible buffer as described on the airport pages.

Complaints

Contact us first at info@silvercabsmelbourne.com.au with the booking reference and what went wrong. Commercial passenger vehicle services in Victoria are regulated by Safe Transport Victoria, who can also be contacted directly.
